Top story... 70-year old airmail plane engages a community of airplane lovers
The year was 1929, when airmail pilot Grant Donaldson crashed his contract mail plane into the mountains near Canyonville, Oregon. Visibility had been low, and the diamond dealer aboard the plane didn't survive the crash. Donaldson survived, but was badly burned. The plane laid in ruin, nothing more than a burned frame of its former self, a new model Boeing 40, airmail and passenger carrier.
If this sounds like something out of the TV show, LOST, read on for a remarkable story filled with dreams, perseverance, and knowledge sharing that affected a community.
