Workplaces & Classrooms: Creating work ready labor

November 1, 2012

Job ready.

How many times do employers lament, "I wish the applicants were job ready?" Sometimes they are missing critical math or writing skills, or they may not have the soft skills like "team work" to jump into the work environment.

Now there is a way to ensure job readiness and it's gaining momentum here in Washington State.

In this issue you'll read more about how industry is screening for job readiness through a story about Silicon Forest Electronics in Vancouver, Washington. You'll also learn about Medical Lake School District and the job readiness training they are doing through their Career and Technical Education programs. Finally, we will share what we are doing here at Center of Excellence for Aerospace and Advanced Manufacturing toward helping employers to find better prepared, work ready employees.

Thank you for agreeing to receive our communications. We look forward to sharing relevant data from Washington's workplaces and classrooms with you each time we publish.
